REOB/SBS Composite-Modified Bitumen Preparation and Modification Mechanism Analysis

To investigate the effect of recycled engine oil bottoms (REOB) as a compatibilizer on properties styrene–butadiene–styrene-modified bitumen (SBS-PMB), this paper studied preparation method, properties, and micro-mechanism composite modification matrix with SBS REOB. Firstly, multi-factor orthogonal experiment determined optimal scheme REOB/SBS composite-modified (REOB/SBS-PMB). Then, high-temperature stability rheological anti-aging performance REOB-PMB were by testing Brookfield viscosity, elasticity recovery, dynamic shear rheology (DSR) short-term aging simulation (TFOT). Finally, microstructure, fraction content, particle dispersion 70# (70-MB), SBS-PMB, REOB/SBS-PMB compared analyzed tests Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), rod-shaped thin-layer chromatography, fluorescence microscopy to reveal REOB improving compatibility. The research results showed that mixing form in was mainly physical swelling blending, chemical changes also present have minor impact. light increased flowability bitumen, promoted SBS, improved compatibility between while reducing impact aging.
